Pudina pulav
Ingrediants:
1 cup rice preferably zeeraga samba
1cup mint leaves, (pudina)
1 piece ginger
2 green chillies
4 cloves
1tsp black pepper
1 onion finely chopped
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 tbs ghee
salt to taste
Method:
Wash and soak rice in 2 cups of water for 1/2 an hour and pressure cook.
Grind mint leaves, ginger and green chillies to a fine paste.
Powder cloves and black pepper and keep aside.
Heat ghee in a pan put cumin seeds and onion and fry till it is light brown.
Add the ground paste and fry for 2-3 minutes, just to get rid of the raw smell.
Add salt to taste.
Now add the cooked rice and mix well.
Finally add the clove+pepper powder and mix well.
This is very delicious. Mint is very good for digestion.
You can call this as green pulav too.
You can make tomato pulav and coconut milk pulav along with mint pulav and serve a tri colour lunch or dinner with raitha and pappad.
