Poha or Aval Upma
Ingrediants : (For one Person)
Aval 1\2 cup
onion 1
potato 1
finely chopped capsicum 1 tbsp
finely chopped cabbage 2tbsp
carrot, beans Green peas optional
red chilli powder1/2 tsp
zeeraga 1/2 tsp powder
Roasted peanuts 2 tb spoon(varutha kadalai)
sesame1/2 tsp
grated coconut 2 tsp
lemon juice1/2 tsp
sugar1/2 tsp
Salt (generally 1/2 tsp is enough, but put less if you want you can add afterwards)
STEPS
1. Soak aval 1/2 cup for half an hour if it is hard and 10 mins if it is thin i.e 'lesu'
2. Powder peanut(without skin), sesame with chilli pdr and zeeraga pdr. It should be coarse powder.
3. Fry the desired (available) vegetables.
4. when the vegetables are cooked add the aval, grated coconut, step 2 pdr, lemon juice sugar and salt. and mix well.
5. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves.
Your tasty yummy Aval upma is ready.
